Utricularia macrorhiza
Utricularia macrorhiza is a floating aquatic carnivorous plant (also known as a "bladderwort") that captures microscopic prey with tiny underwater bladder traps. Its vigorous growth and seasonal yellow flowers make it an unusual and fascinating species for ponds, tubs, and still freshwater containers. It thrives in nutrient-poor, sunny, still water.
If kept indoors or in a closed system, adding a small amount of pond water occasionally can help introduce microorganisms for the bladderwort to feed on.
