Collection: Butterworts (Pinguicula)

Butterworts (Pinguicula) trap gnats and small insects on leaves coated in a sticky, greasy film. Mexican butterworts are some of the most colorful and forgiving carnivorous plants you can grow, forming neat rosettes that blush pink, red, or purple in bright light and producing showy flowers.

Our collection includes registered cultivars and collector hybrids in a range of colors and sizes. They are excellent natural fungus gnat control on a windowsill or under lights.

Mexican pings prefer a mineral-heavy, airy mix rather than peat. Our Ping Soil Mix is made for them. Read our Butterwort Care Guide for more.
