Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Pinguicula 'Snow Queen' special?
Its pale, creamy variegated foliage — unusual among butterworts — which gets more pronounced as the plant matures. Rosettes reach 2–4" across.
What soil does a Mexican butterwort need?
A mineral-rich, airy mix (perlite, peat, vermiculite, limestone, charcoal) — our Ping Soil Mix is made for exactly this. Avoid pure peat.
What water and light does it need?
Distilled, rain, or RO water only, with bright indirect sun or a full-spectrum LED at 55–85°F.
Why are my butterwort's leaves getting small and tight?
That's a natural succulent winter rosette. Water less during this phase; normal sticky carnivorous leaves return with active growth.
